La belle pensée is one of the 20 apartments in the castle. There are also homes in the Orangery, the building next to it.
It is located on the 1st floor on the north side, just above the entrance and is 62 m2 in size and is suitable for 2 people. It can be reached via the elevator but also via l'escaliér d'honneur, the stairs of honor.
All apartments belong to Dutch owners who occasionally come there for peace and quiet, but also to socialize with each other and enjoy French life. Some people sometimes bring friends or family as guests; that also makes it lively.
The La belle pensée apartment is perhaps the most beautiful apartment of the moment because it has only been completely renovated (July 2022) and has been made castle-like and luxurious.
It has a very cozy living room with TV, fireplace, seating furniture (the sofa can also serve as a sofa bed) and cupboards. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, and induction hob with internal extraction and sufficient kitchen cabinets.
The dining table is also located here and a cozy (work) corner has been created by the window with a beautiful view. The utility room is furnished as a coffee and tea kitchen with a luxury coffee machine and here is also the washing machine/dryer.
The bedroom is open (no door, but a wall between the kitchen and bedroom) and has a double bed (160 by 200cm) and a large wardrobe. You can listen to your own music throughout the apartment via the Sonos installation, which also works on the TV.
The castle is located approximately 1 km outside the village of Cheviré le Rouge, between the cities of Le Mans and Angers, near the towns of Durtal, Fougeré, La Fleche, Baugé, all in the Loire region, also the castle region of France. The village has a church and some houses and basically no shops (see photo at the top of this page).
The estate surrounding the castle contains 23 hectares of land. You can take a lovely walk in the park and forest and enjoy in or by the swimming pool (open from May 1 to November 1). In the garden or on the terrace you can use the cozy seating areas and have your own drink or snack. The weather in this area is usually slightly more favorable than in the Netherlands, as is the temperature. It can be quite warm there in summer.
