WANDERLODGE RV - 24m2, 33ft x 8ft.
This is a classic 1978 America RV called a Wanderlodge, similar to Wanderlodges owned by Johnny Cash, President Jimmy Carter, King Hussein of Jordan, the King of Saudi Arabia and Mohammad Ali. When this RV was built, it cost twice what an average American single family home cost.
It has a full-size bed in the rear, 2 couches (convertible to single beds) in the front, bluetooth stereo system, Amazon Alexa, LED HD TV in bedroom (with HDMI cable for iPhone), a small kitchen with sink, refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, hot water kettle, compact bathroom with toilet, small shower and sink (9/1/19 - the bathroom is being remodeled, so tenant will use the bathroom in the main building or by the laundry).
Interior is still all original (hidden phone number)s shag carpeting, a fabric upholstered ceiling and wood cabinets all around, although the lighting has been upgraded to LED. There is a small clothes closet and lots of built in storage, although not a lot of headroom, so if you are taller than 180cm/6 ft, I would suggest one of our container studios. Additional storage can be arranged if necessary. Dishes, silverwear and cooking utinsels/pans are included, as well as blankets, but you will need to buy or bring your own sheets and pillow.
There is a semi-private enclosed patio and awning in front of RV with a tall table and chairs, a lounge chair and an outside bath/shower. Smoking is allowed in this area. A small fire place can be set-up here in the winter.
*Price quoted is for 1 person. $120 per month additional per person.
(hidden website) - We are an artist run art studio complex next to the water in San Pedro, CA with a studio project called testingLAB, an irregular exhibition/lecture/studio space (that also serves as our living room and main kitchen), art/tech studios, a few live/work shipping containers and 4 "rooms" in containers that are used for our artist-in-residence program.
We are an active artspace and have occasional workshops, lectures and exhibitions. We have fires outside when it gets cool enough, community dinners, BBQs and special events and occasionally sit up on our roof deck for beers and watch the ships drift by a few hundred feet beyond.
Parking is usually easily found on the street right out front, and there is also paid parking available at the Los Angeles Cruise Ship Terminal just across the street. There is occasional noise from industrial activity in the yard next to us and across the street at the port, as well as traffic noise on Harbor Blvd, although it's usually pretty quiet at night. The WWII Battleship moored across from us hosts music and cultural festivals about every couple of weeks in its parking lots, bringing in up to 8000 people. There is also a public dock across the street where you can drop in a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, if you want to spend time on the water.
San Pedro is the southernmost neighborhood/town in Los Angeles. We are on the western edge of the Port of Los Angeles. An express bus to the Metro Subway system, USC, Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA), USC and Union Station stops right outside our gate. If you drive, the entrance to the 110 freeway is just a few blocks away, and heads directly to the 405 (and LAX), I-10 and DTLA. Long Beach is just across the bridge to the East. The beach, marina, bars, restaurants, grocery stores are all walking or biking distance. San Pedro is one of the best sailing and windsurfing places in the world.
