The 7th district offers a wide range of activities, from shopping in Mariahilfer Straße and Neubaugasse, to classic cultural attractions such as the Volkstheater, the Museumsquartier, the Theater in der Josefstadt, the Hofimmobiliendepot, the Kosmos Theater and the Amerlinghaus, to the "village in the city", the Spittelberg with its well-preserved historic buildings and idyllic squares, with numerous opportunities for diversion within walking distance. Mariahilfer Strasse, Vienna's largest shopping street, is just a two-minute walk away. The Haus des Meeres is just one kilometer away. More than 10,000 animals are on display there on an area of around 5,000 m², ranging from aquariums with animals mainly from the Mediterranean and tropical freshwater and seawater habitats to a terrarium section and a tropical house with birds, flying foxes and monkeys that are not separated from visitors by bars or glass panes. It is interesting to note that the Haus des Meeres is housed in a former flak tower from the Second World War, which still towers into the sky like a memorial.

The nearest bus stop is just two minutes away and the nearest subway station is just four minutes away.
