Large, cozy, well-situated and welcoming house in one of the best coasts of Catalonia, Calafat.
Right outside the house, there is lots of room to park your cars, or autocaravan. Entering through the front gate, you are received by a large green area with artificial grass big enough to either sunbathe, play water-gun game with your family, or train with your dog (we also have agility set of Galican hurdles, tunnel, slalom that you are welcome to use, as long as you know how to safely train with your dog). The main entrance to the house has three stair steps, not suitable for a well-chair sadly, but suitable for people with reduced mobility, there is a bar you can hold on to get up the three step stairs. Entering, you are met with a small corridor, on the right you have a small bathroom with a shower plate, a sink, and a toilet seat with a window overlooking the front yard. On the left, you have the large kitchen, with a washing machine, fridge, vitrocermaic stove, dishwasher, a table you can either use or go outside through the kitchen to the porch area with a 4 people bank and coffee table. When entering the house from the main door, in front of you is the large high-ceiling living room space. First you have the 6 people beautiful wooden dining table, with 4 chairs, a cozy 4 people couch with a chaise-longue, a 65 inches smart TV, a dining room area and of course our favorite pastime area next to the fireplace. In the living room you have two large windows and a wide door that allow the entry of daylight to shine through the house, and also overlooks the swimming pool, to keep an eye on the children (if any). Outside the living room you have access to the porch, just as you can from within the kitchen. Also, through the living room, you have an arched passing corridor to the rest of the rooms. On the right you have the two single beds bedroom, in the middle you have a large bathroom with a tub, and on the left there is the double bed bedroom, that also has a large window with lots of daylight access and a view to the swimming pool area.
Outside, the house is surrounded by hedge trees from behind, separating us from the neighbors but on the frontside with both hedges trees and a fence that give you perfect privacy from all sides. So, if you have a dog that might want to escape, please keep that in mind. Apart from the swimming pool area, there we have 5 chickens that are very friendly and some friendly neighborhood cats that pay us a visit. You will have to keep an eye for the chickens, just in case the water runs out, it usually lasts longer, but just in case something happens and you are there, it'll be nice to just add water or add feed in their feeders.
The area is very safe and the neighbors are multi-cultural and very nice folks in general.
There are also two bikes that you are more than welcome to use around the town. There are many beaches nearby, the closest beach is only 7 minutes walk away from the house, and by bike is only 3 minutes. Major touristic areas are also very close by car, 15 minutes away you have Hospitalet de l'infant and Miami Platja where you can enjoy the best seafood restaurants at the port, kitesurfing, standup paddling at the most beautiful beaches, spend an afternoon at one of the best direct concert bar at the Buho Restaurant with a view on the beach. There is also Torn beach if you are into nudist beach culture. Deltebre is also only 30 minutes away with its many kayaking adventures, watching flamencos and birds, and the best sunset ever, as well as many hiking/cycling routes etc. If you are into Catalan Culture, Reus, Tarragona, and Tortosa are nice towns to visit with many museums and summer activities. Of course Tarragona is only 30 minutes away, and there you can explore Roman ruins and history and enjoy the beautiful views from top Miradores. Not to forget the exciting Portaventura World, a famous amusement park that is only 25mins away from the house. Of course, if you like hiking and old beautiful Catalan towns, we highly recommend visiting Siurana, nothing tops the beauty of the high mountains, with lovely restaurants on the top with amazing views, and easily accessed by car, and a huge lake to hike, kayak and swim in! Barcelona is also only 1.5 hour drive by the highway, or if you choose not to drive through the hectic busy traffic of Barcelona, you can always drive to the nearest train station, that is only 15mins away and take the train.
Reus Airport is 30mins away by car, and El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona) airport is 1.5h away. Of course, we are also very glad to help you throughout your stay with recommendations or any questions that you may have about your stay.
We are dog agility sport lovers, and if you are a dog lover and you would like to try the sport, we'll be more than happy to help you start. My husband is a an agility trainer, and he trains his classes in an indoor agility center and does many outdoor programmed activities with dogs such as hiking, paddle surfing, Kayaking, and search games etc. Just in case, it peaks your interest.
The house accommodates 4 people but we don't mind if more would want to come with and bring their own inflatable bed, or sleep on the couch etc.. We only want you to have a great time and enjoy the experience. We travel a lot ourselves and we understand the culture, and we are renting our house so we could also be able to afford to do more of our hobbies. So, why not help each other!
We are LGBTQI+ friendly and we welcome all peoples, dog parents, cats etc. We speak Catalan, Spanish, English, and French. We are learning Dutch in the Netherlands right now, but still not really good at it :D
